Swine Flu Infects British MPs
United Kingdom: British Folk have been shocked to discover that their Right Honourable Members of Parliament have been abusing a system allowing them to claim expenses. MPs have taken the liberty of claiming for many personal items - purchasing everything from pork pies to flat screen TVs. They also took to ‘flipping’ (whereby their primary residence was swapped to allow claims on second homes), claiming taxes and paying for services ranging from gardening to pornography.
Is this another form of Swine Flu that turns the victim into a greedy pig unable to contain the urge to spend Taxpayers’ money?
The Telegraph Newspaper broke the story just last week but this article in The Guardian from 2004 suggests a wake up call should have come a lot earlier.
